BOOKER, Mrs. Doris L., of Richmond, passed away September 4, 2008. She is survived by her grandchildren, Theron N. Whitaker Jr. and Danielle L. Whitaker; siblings, Leroy E. Brooks, Elizabeth Jane Murray, Barbara V. Brooks of New York, Gabriel Brooks Jr. (Alice A.), Gerena E. Green, Evelyn J. Black and Howard Brooks Sr. (Rita). Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. Remains will lie in state Monday, 12 noon, at Victorious Living Christian Center, 5186 Nine Mile Rd., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Pastor John H. Brewer Jr. officiating. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.

To the entire Booker and Brooks Family:

YOU have my profound sympathy, and heartfelt Condolences in the passing of our beloved Doris L. Brooks-Booker, affectionately known as "Mada."
Remember the good times and the marvelous blessing she was to all of us.
I wiill never forget her She has "fought a good fight, she has finished her course...." Now She has gone home to get her reward. Just think of the blessed time that "Mada, Web, and Poke must be having in heaven right now! Take comfort in these words:

"TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY, IS TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD."
JESUS SAID, "IN THE WORLD YOU SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION. BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD!" (JOHN 16:33)
Glory! We are citizens of HEAVEN and EARTH!

Death is swallowed up in VICTORY!! GOD is Merciful. Keep the faith!
