MOORE, Viola "Pete" Mason, 78, widow of her beloved husband of 61 years, William H. Moore Jr. of Powhatan, passed away September 8, 2008. Vi is survived by a daughter, Barbara M. Dunbar and husband, William; two sons, Charles E. Moore and wife, Linda, William R. Moore; sister, Dell Burke; seven grandchildren, Kevin and Jonathan Dunbar, Rachel Seamans, Daniel and Joshua Moore, Brianne Adams, Matt Moore; and four great-grandchildren, Adam Seamans, William and Clarice Adams, and Ethan Moore. She was an active member of Old Powhatan Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore was a gracious motherly figure to all who had the honor of knowing her. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) at the Bennett Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rte. 60), Powhatan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Old Powhatan Baptist Church. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Old Powhatan Baptist Church, 2202 Old Church Rd., Powhatan, Va. 23139.

Bobbi, Billy & Buddy, I'm so sad to hear of the loss of your Mom. Pete was such a very special person and was so good to me. I cherish the "sleep-overs" and all those delicious french-toast breakfasts she
