KAISER, Esther Gillingham, 96, of Midlothian, dear wife of 70 years, passed into the presence of the Lord Sunday, September 21, 2008. Her passing was attended by her family. She lived her life as a servant of the Lord, exemplified by her devotion to her husband, her son, her friends and her church. Esther was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and Plymouth Haven Baptist Church in Alexandria and Winfree Memorial Baptist Church in Midlothian. She is remembered for her years teaching Sunday School, training other Sunday School teachers, and her flower arrangements for worship services. Her devotion and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Edward J. Kaiser; brother, Joseph Gillingham; son, David Lee Kaiser and his wife, Rebecca. She leaves behind her grandson, "E.J." of Richmond; grandsons, Benjamin and Andrew; and granddaughter, Lydia, of Chesterfield; and her great- granddaughter, Mikayla. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Club House of Brandermill Woods Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sound of the Word, a ministry to missionaries, 5024 Teen Barnes Road, Frederick, Maryland 21703.
