LESLIE, Leroy "Roy" Sr., 81, formerly of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Marie Leslie; a son, Ronnie Leslie; a granddaughter, Jennifer Leslie; a brother, Ben Leslie; and a sister, Dot Zicafoose. He is survived by his son, Leroy Jr. and his wife, Elaine; a granddaughter, Susan Leslie; two great-grandchildren, Art Leslie and Jasmine Spurrell; a brother, Buck and his wife, Louise; a sister, Mary Penny and her husband, John; and many other family and friends. Roy worked for many years for the Stanley's Dairy Farm in Ashland before he retired. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 27, at the Nelsen Funeral Home's Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 28. Interment Mt. Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, 11325 Mt. Hope Church Road, Doswell, Va. 23047.
