SCHMIDT, Willa Mae "Tillie", 82, of Sandston, passed away on September 26. Loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She leaves behind her son, Stephen Stanley and wife, Debbie of New Kent; daughter, Delores Garrett of Sandston; grandchildren, Charles Garrett Jr. of Sandston, Kimberly Lumpkin of Sandston, Stevie Stanley Jr. of New Kent, Angie Whelan of Sandston, Shanna Stanley of New Kent; great-grandchildren, April Veach of Newport News, Zachary Veach of Sandston, Nicholas Garrett of Sandston, Sarah Garrett of Sandston, Jacob Stanley of Mechanicsville, Riley Whelan of Sandston; great-great-grandchild, Evan Reaves of Newport News. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 29, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Laburnum Chapel. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. the following day at the funeral home, with burial to immediately follow at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Pkwy., Richmond, Va. 23227.
