Mike, "Joe Burge." It has been nearly a year since you left us. Our pain in losing you has not lessened. I hope and pray that Jesus has taken you into His arms and blessed you. I'll ALWAYS treasure your friendship.
God bless.

Rest in peace my friend. I taught with Mike at Lee High School. I did not know about his demise until yesterday. I now live in the Richmond area. Sorry I missed his services.
He was truly a dear person.

Mr. Burgess thank you for teaching us , The Lee High Football Team from 1976 - 1978. How to be more than athletes, You taught us to be Men!!! We were instilled with life long lessons, about what it take to be young Black men. To the credit of you and that coaching staff the majority of us have prospered in life as adults. Again thank you and our hearts go out to your family.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Burgess family. Michael was a good friend and associate of mine in past years and I always cherished his friendship. I know he will be truly missed. My God be with you during this period of your life and remember that God knows best.
