Vernell Johnson

JOHNSON, Vernell, of Richmond, departed this life September 28, 2008. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lula S. Johnson; one daughter, Gloria J. Bowles; two sons, Rev. Pernell J. and Alford Johnson; eight grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren; three sisters, Hilda Camp, Juanita and Eva M. Whiters; one brother, James Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Johnson, wife of Pernell; five sisters-in-law, Pearline Hawkins, Mattie Langhorne, and Alice, Linda and Barbara Johnson; three brothers-in- law, Richard Johnson, Jim Gordon and Willie Perkins; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 1902 Rosewood Avenue, where remains will lie in state one hour prior funeral time. Rev. Pernell Johnson (eulogy). Interment Riverview Cemetery.
