"Always alive in our hearts"
Vicki Rowe
October 8, 2011
It's been 3 years today since you passed mama and I miss you more and more everyday. Jackson is doing to good in Kindergarten, rides the bus and everything. Samuel will be 8 months old tomorrow,he's such a happy baby. He has 2 teeth and is crawling now, he will be walking before we know it. I love you and miss you so much, I can't believe it has been three years since you went to Heaven, it doesn't seem that long. I hope you are happy up there and enjoying time with daddy, give him hugs and kisses from me and tell him I love and miss him so as well. I hope you guys are enjoying watching your grand babies grow and develop into wonderful young children. We miss you, love you mama.

Just thinking of you today Mama, how I miss you! Your warm smile and the best advice giver, I miss talking to you. How I wish I could pick up the phone a call you. You would love your newest grandson Sam so much, he's getting so big, already 2 months old! Jackson misses you dearly, he will be 5 in a couple of weeks and I just registered him for Kindergarten last week, can you believe it...Kindergarten! He also had his opening day for t-ball last Saturday, he played very well. He is getting so big. Love you and miss you so much mama, give daddy and big hug and kiss for me up there. I love you.

My mama was my bestfriend and the most wonderful person I have ever known. Upon reading all of these entries I see how she touched the lives of others as I already knew. Thank you for the kind words.
I think of you every day mama. We all love and miss you so very much.

I did not know until recently of Barbara's passing. It is sad to lose such a talented and loving person.
Her warm smile will always be remembered. What fun we had working at Central Fidelity.

I'm so sorry Barbara lost her valiant fight with ALS. She was such a brave soul. She was my sister Martha's best friend for 30 plus years and nothing could be a more fitting epitaph than you were someone's "best friend" I know she will be greatly
missed and you are in my thoughts. She is free to be herself once again.

I truly feel blessed to have known Mrs. Hicks. She was my favorite "friends Mom"- she gave the best advice and was always there for me in a crisis. Her warm and motherly spirit will be greatly missed.

Dr. Weinbaum and Daniel,
In this sorrowful time may G_d hide you in His tabernacle, in the secret place of His dwelling. He is with you. The G_d of Jacob is your refuge.

Barbara was one of my managers at Central National (Fidelity) Bank. From her I learned the importance of ethics, and of being honest and open. I was privileged to have known Barbara and am saddened to hear of her death. She and John are now dancing.
My prayers and thoughts go out to her family.

I knew Barbara through Wachovia, and on behalf of my family , please accept our condolences. My wife reminded me of the time Barbara kept the bank open late to help our son. She was always pleasant, upbeat and gracious.

Dr. Weinbaum and Daniel,
I am so very, very sorry --mortal's words fail at times such as these;
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills;
from whence cometh my help?
My help cometh from the Lord,
who hath made Heaven and earth.
....
Behold, He that keepth Isreal
shall neither slumber nor sleep.
....
The Lord shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in, from this time forth for evermore."
Psalm 121

I could not help but notice that beautiful smiling face smiling out of today's paper. I was so sorry to read that she had the difficult road of ALS to travel. I do not know you but wanted to offer you my sincere sympathy and prayers. God Bless.
She is free of it all in heaven.

My deepest sympathy to Barbara's family and many, many friends. I will always treasure our time together in Highland Springs and Fairfield schools. The Class of 1967 has lost one of its most beautiful, talented, eloquent, and friendly classmates. Rest in peace my friend. What a blessing you are to all of us.

May God continue to shed his Love upon the entire family as they grieve. Although seperated from us now, she has joined with the throngs that love Christ in a far better place. Phil. 4: 6-9

It's not the years in a life that count but the life in those years, you spent them well. My deepest sympathy goes out to all those that loved you and for the loss that they feel.
