Maude E. Washington

WASHINGTON, Maude E., 79, departed this life October 13, 2008. The daughter of the late Willie Simmons and Virginia Mahone, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Washington; sister, Evelyn Mahone; three sons, Clinton, Earl and Elbert Washington. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Alvin Mahone, Linwood Mahone and Joseph Washington; four daughters, Gloria Ann Scott, Gladys Mahone, Diane Washington-Jones and Linda Washington; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Brian Jones; two daughters-in-law, Violet Mahone and Estelle Washington; two nephews, Ondrake and Marvin Mahone; two nieces, Juette Mahone and Julie Harrison; devoted caregiver, C.N.A. Deborah Woody-Ellis; adopted son, Tony Clarke; and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, 1 p.m., at Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 913 N. 1st St. Rev. Kenneth Dennis officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Remains will rest in church one hour prior to service.
