OWEN, Mr. Thomas Venable Jr., 83, of Green Bay, passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 in Farmville. He was born November 4, 1924 in Prince Edward County. He was the son of the late Thomas V. Owen, Sr. and Elizabeth Havens Owen. He was the husband of Dorothea "Dot" Owen. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked with Buffalo Shook Co., Inc. in Farmville and he was a farmer. He was a member of the Ruritan Club and an elder at College Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife; his children, Sally O. Reed and Mary O. Perini and husband, Tony, all of Farmville, and Susan O. Clark and husband, David, of Midlothian; his sister, Ann Owen Bowling of Powhatan; and four grandchildren, Tiffany Adkins, Todd and Megan Buchanan, and Carson Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Charles C., John H. and Daniel Owen. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 20, 11 a.m. at College Presbyterian Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to College Presbyterian Church. Puckett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
