MURPHY, Kenneth, 57, of Richmond, Va., died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at his home. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Evlynn Murphy of Lake Monticello, Va.; one son, David Murphy of Grape Vine, Texas; two daughters, Kimberly Murphy of Grape Vine, Texas, and Kerry Murphy-Hammond and her husband, John; and a granddaughter, Delaney, all of Columbia, Va.; two brothers, Thomas Murphy and his wife, Mary, of Crofton, Md., and Donald Murphy and his wife, Karen, of Merrick, N.Y.; one sister, Debbie Murphy of Augusta, Ga. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store, Va. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Palmyra, Va. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire and Rescue, 10 Slice Rd., Palmyra, Va. 22963, or Columbia Elementary School, 563 Wilmington Rd., Palmyra, Va. 22963. Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
