I will always remember Charlie for his humble demeanor towards the men he supervised. Though he was a hard working individual. He was in no ways a burden to those who worked with him. I watched how he use to order asphalt for the various jobs. He was very specific in ordering the right amount for the job and not have any waste. He would call the dispatcher and tell him to change from base asphalt to topping without any interruption in the required amount of material he needed.
God bless your legacy

So Charlie one more time. 28 to 91. Hold on load 15.

My uncle Charlie was a man ahead of his time. His knowledge, skills and abilities were equal to a person with a "PHD", but he did not have one. He taught me strong work ethic, which I have today. I will miss my uncle Charlie.

To The family of Charlie Harris. We do mourn you loss. Many people knew Charlie. Many that didn't know him are enjoying the fruits of his labor. They enjoy riding on the hi ways of the State of Virginia where Charlie toiled many years supervising a large asphalt paving crew. Many of us that were at Charlie's retirement celebration in 1999. We heard his former employers elaborated on Charlie's accomplishments with tools and inventions. It was a gift from God to help mankind live a more productive life. Charlie you have run the race of life. The streets of heaven are paved with gold. No more Blaw Knox,Barber Green and Caterpillar pavers. No more base material and S-5 asphalt No more one ton five ton and ten ton rollers.
