Leland Layell Obituary

LAYELL, Leland E. Sr., 95, of Glen Allen, passed away October 24, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia G. Layell, and is survived by one son, Leland E. Layell Jr. and his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Carolyn Haley and her husband, Doug, and Margaret Potter and her husband, Steve; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one niece and one nephew. Mr. Layell was a hunter, fisherman, an avid gardener, and a lifetime member of the Sportsman Hunt Club. He retired from Brookhill Construction Company, and was well known for his hand picked vegetables and produce stand. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday (today) at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where funeral services will be held 12 noon on Monday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.

Our family is sadden by your loss. Your dad had worked for our father for many years and they were great friends. That was many many years ago but we never forgot Leland.
