Richard John Wagner

WAGNER, Richard John, 76, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly Jane. He was the beloved father of Cheryl (Donald) Horner of Chesterfield and Deborah (Michael) Suhr of Front Royal. He is further survived by seven grandchildren, Aaron, Ryan and Kaylin Horner and Evan, Jordan, Hannah and Bethany Suhr; one sister, Marjorie Palm of Sunnyvale, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Wagner served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 6.5 years. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Swift Creek Baptist Church. Interment 3 p.m. at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Swift Creek Baptist Church, 7511 N. Spring Run Road, Midlothian, Va. 23112.
