William Trimmer Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Oct. 31, 2008.
TRIMMER, William Clay, 85, was a longtime resident of King William. He passed away October 30, 2008 from leukemia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tapley and Hazel; brother of Malcolm and Marie. He is survived by his wife, Dot, of 60 years; four sons, Tommy (Allyson), Johnny (Cherrie), Bobby (Barbara) and Frank (Tina); two daughters, Mary Jane (Bob), Margaret Ellen (Skip); and nine favorite grandchildren. He was a World War II veteran who served his country aboard the LST7 (1942-1945). He saw service in the European Theater, participating in the Sicilian Salerno landings and the Normandy invasion. He was a retired machinist with AMF, an avid gardener, and able to fix almost anything. Service arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bon Secours Hospice program. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of hospice and the caring nurses at Bon Secours for the care given to him his final days.
