Louis P. Atkinson

ATKINSON, Louis P., of Mineral, died Sunday, November 2, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wheat and Agnes Atkinson; three sisters, Claudia Carneal, Elinor Pleasants and Jeanine Hall; and four brothers, Arnold, Arthur, Wesley and Aubrey Atkinson. He is survived by his sisters, Bernice Deane, Patricia Parker and Jerry Alley; his brothers, Grayson, Harold, Robert and William Atkinson; his wife, Jane Cook Atkinson; his children, Mary Jane Watkins, Gail Atkinson, David Atkinson (Theresa), Kathy Atkinson (Jimmie), and Greg Atkinson (Fran). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephanie, Joseph, Bradley, Matthew, Sarah, Joshua and Jacob; his great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Trey, Adriana and Kamryn; and many nieces, nephews and friends. His remains rest at the Lacy Funeral Home, Route 522, Mineral, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Atkinson Family Cemetery, Louisa County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Church Building Fund, P.O.
