Lottie Cole Owen

OWEN, Mrs. Lottie Cole, of Halifax, Va., died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born on March 6, 1922 in Farmville, Va. and was 86 years old. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Cole and was married to Louis Jennings Owen. She was a member of the Halifax United Methodist Church. She was retired from the National Institute of Health with the United States Government. She is survived by her husband, Louis Jennings Owen of Halifax; two sisters, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Halifax United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Williams conducting the service. Burial will be Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, Va. The family will receive friends at the home, 412 Lakeside Drive, Halifax, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Halifax County Humane Society, P. O. Box 969, South Boston, Va. 24592 or the Halifax United Methodist Church.
