Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved great-grandson, Jacob Leonard. "Sister" was born in Mitchells, Va. on January 1, 1924. In high school, she played on the girl's softball team and fell in love with a "scrappy" Golden Gloves boxer, Paul, whom she married in 1942. Whether she was known as Sister, Elizabeth, Mom, Grandma, Aunt Liz, or Mrs. West, she was loved by all and her caring love of all will be missed. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, with Rev. John Farrar officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to the Children's Miracle Network, 4525 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117 or to St. Mary's Hospice, St. Mary's Hospital, 5801 Bremo Rd., Richmond, Va. 23226. I am deeply saddened to learn of Elizabeth's death. She and Paul were my next-door neighbors and friends for many years. My sympathy goes to her sons, Bill and James, and to Veronica. Elizabeth was also a kind and caring friend of my four-footed companion, Bo.
