ISAACS, Meredith W. "Jack," died Sunday, November 16, 2008. He was born October 20, 1919 in Richmond, Va. and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Army prior to Pearl Harbor, enlisted in the U.S. Navy December 8, 1941 and was discharged in 1945 as SK 1/C. He was a lifetime member of DAV. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ethel T. Isaacs; one daughter, Pamela I. Bradley and son-in-law, Richard J. Bradley; one granddaughter, Nan V. Henderson and her husband Travis; one grandson, Richard J. Bradley Jr and his wife, Tonya; three great-grandchildren, Isabel Grace Henderson, Isaac Phillip Henderson and McKenna Leigh Bradley. Mr. Isaacs retired from the McGuire V.A. Hospital in 1978 with 32 years of service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Manchester Lodge #14 A.F. & A.M. and Richmond Scottish Rite for over 50 years and a past member of Order of the Eastern Star & White Shrine. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church from "Cradle Roll" until death, having served on the Board of Deacons and the Administrative Board. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, and where services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday. Entombment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
