I am in still in shock over Eds passing. I knew Ed from way back when..back in the good ole' days. He was such a great and fun person to be with. I have not seen him in 10 or so years even though we live within a 30 mile radius but I was so glad to know that he found someone that he wanted to spend his life with and that she gave him a son. I know that having those two most important people in his life made him truly happy. He must have been so proud of his little boy. He meant alot to me and I will never forget the good times and I will always have fond memories of him. I am deeply saddened for his family and will keep them in my thoughts.

Kim -I believe there is some Divine plan and that, despite all of our madness on Earth, we are really following a path intended for us by Him or Her. That said, as profoundly wrong as this seems perhaps He has other plans for the Harpers. Given what I know of you, he had to be a tremendously amazing human being. It may be that this world can only hold so much brightness. Recognizing that you can carry that
torch, He had another calling that only Edgar could answer.

My prayers are with you. Please don't hesitate to ask for
anything... ANYTHING during this time.

Kim and Family - my deepest sympathy for your loss. I have fond thoughts of how Ed kept me laughing during a class I shared with him at W&L, cheering him on when he played football and hanging out with him at Charlie Boys. I will always remember his great smile. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time.

Our hearts were sadden to hear about the passing of Ed. To the people and friends that knew him he was in his own class and you had to either accept the way he was or not. Jason and Billy worked with Ed . Jason learned alot from Ed and only Ed knows how he taught him not to be bullied by others. The days ahead are going to be hard for his family , so try and remember the good times and his laugh and smile and know that is ok and God has a plan for him.

To the Family and friends of Ed Harper:
The memories of Ed "Hahpa" are as fresh for me today as they were almost 25 years ago. The brief glimpses in time we spent together at VWC were significant and long lasting, and fondly remembered. He was a giant of a man, in many ways -- and I am proud to say I walked with and knew this giant. The Northern Neck is a special place for many, even if only a visitor. It's a little lonelier today without his presence there, but all the more special for him having been there. I hope God appreciates good crab meat -- if he doesn't, I'm sure Ed's changing his mind for him right now. With fondest memories and sympathies,

Kim, Harriet, and little Ed
We are so sorry to hear about Ed's passing. I've had the honor of knowing Kim and Ed for almost forty years. Kay and i saw Ed not too long ago and all he could talk about was his son and Harriet, he was very happy. Ed was not only one hell of a guy, he was also a good friend to kay and i. for those of you who know Ed, if he called you his friend, you had a true friend in Ed Harper. Its hard to imagine a world without ED walking and especially talking in it. There will only be one Ed Harper, there will never be another. God bless you and keep you ED.

Dear Family and Friends,

I am so sorry to hear about Ed passing away. It's been many years since I have seen Ed but the great memories @ VWC are etched in my mind and in my Heart! Ed was a kind man with a kind soul. He would stand up for any of us and would always be there to lend a helping hand (or Beer)! God Speed my Friend and may the Peace of the Lord be with you and your Family always!

God Bless,

We were shocked !!! to learn of Ed's passing. My sons John & Donald Stoner went to school with Ed & Kim @ Woodlandland Academy. My son John saw Ed Sunday evening and they had a nice conversation. When I moved to Kinsale in 1969, Ed & Kim were the first kids we meet. Our sympathy goes out to all of Ed's family
