Roderick Lee Diehl

DIEHL, Roderick Lee, 74, of Hanover Va., born December 10, 1933, died at 11:55 p.m. on November 15, 2008 after an eight month battle with mesothelioma cancer, held my hand and climbed to the top of the mountain, and soared like an eagle into the hands of his parents, Welty S. and Sallie Lee Diehl; and his children, Steven F. and Wendy K. Diehl-Lindon, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia A. Langlitz-Diehl; his daughters, Leann C. (Brandon) Harris, and Heidi S. (Alex) Burton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gary Diehl, Penny Lindon, Devin Erke, Tyler and Gwendolyn Diehl, Zander, Ava and Sage Burton; his beloved sister, Dorothy J. Diehl-Warfield of McGahyesville Va.; mother-in-law, Catherine Langlitz (deceased, Henry A.) of Glendale, Wis.; brother-in-law, Henry R. Langlitz (deceased, Joan) of Milwaukee, Wis.; sister-in-law, Carole (James) Kroeger of Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. He was treasurer of VA Ultralite Club 250, a member of the EAA, and the Golddiggers Club in Arizona. The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Rte. 301 and Shady Grove Rd. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
