David Holmes Obituary

Published by Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service on Nov. 30, 2008.
HOLMES, David Lee, 46, of Chesterfield, was suddenly called home to be with our heavenly father on Friday, November 28, 2008. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed going to the beach as often as he could. He was an excellent cook who added a special touch to every dish he made. He loved classic cars and beach music. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Hagan Holmes. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Delmar L. Holmes; his sister, Donna Ledford and her husband, Richard; his brother, Mark Holmes and his wife, Elizebeth; a niece, Sarah; and five nephews, Jeremy, Caleb, Aaron, Cameron and Collin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). A Funeral Liturgy will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park. He was taken from us too soon and will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

Dear Family Members,
I consider my childhood years spent with David to have been unforgetable. I just learned of Davids passing and I am saddened above what any words can express.
I will always remember him and all of the great times we had growing up as friends.

David's laughter and personality will truly be missed by all that he came in contact with. I met David several years ago through a good friend of mine that worked with him at Auto Zone. He was always making everyone laugh and don't forget the good food he was always making. They say people come in and out of your life for a reason, a season, and a lifetime. David truly blessed everyone he met with always a smile and a joke. The people he met were for a lifetime.

Words can not express how much I will miss you. Through the good times and the bad we remained the best of friends. Over the many years we've known each other, we only grew closer as steadfast friends. I will miss you calling to check on me and always telling me that everything will be all right. You knew me better than anybody. I'm so glad we had out time together. I will cherish every memory. Oh, how I wish things had been different and God hadn't taken you from us. I know you will not let me down. You will be looking after me just like you said you would. This is not goodbye, it's only until we meet again.
My prayers are with your family.
With a heart that is broken and with much love,
Sandy

Mr Holmes,
My prayers and deepest sympathies are with you and your family at this time. Your love and devotion to David were obvious to me in our conversations during David's treatments. I feel fortunate to have met you both.
