Deaconess Rachel Tisdale

TISDALE, Deaconess Rachel, of Richmond, departed this life November 29, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Tisdale; and one daughter, Rachel T. Frierson. She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine T. Bannister and Kathleen T. Jones; two sons, Edward L. and Joseph A. Tisdale; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Hickman and Ruby Joyner; one brother, Joseph S. Hutcheson; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Joan and Ann Tisdale; one son-in-law, Reginald Jones; six sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; and other relatives and friends. She was a past Worthy Matron of Henrico Chapter 78 (Prince Hall Afilliated). She was also a past chaplain of the Women's Auxillary of the Deacon's Conference of Richmond and Vicinity. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon, at Grace Institutional Baptist Church, 300 W. Roanoke Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Apostle Michael Bennett (pastor) officiating. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
