Barbara Ann Inge Bowman

BOWMAN, Barbara Ann Inge, 70, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2008. She was born in Durham, N.C., raised in Petersburg, Va., and had been a Newport News resident for over 50 years. Mrs. Bowman retired from Copeland Toyota Volvo as a payroll administrator. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she was very active on church committees and in the community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Bowman Sr.; and her father, George H. Inge Sr. Mrs. Bowman is survived by her daughter, Meredith Lynn Gragg and husband, Matthew, of Virginia Beach; son, Richard E. Bowman Jr. and wife, Stacy, of Providence Forge; mother, Annie Gill of Richmond; three brothers, Claude Inge and wife, Linda, of Richmond, George Inge and wife, Joan, of Marrero, La., and Gary Inge and wife, Debbie, of Hardyville; two grandchildren, Zachary Bowman and Cameron Gragg; additionally her very dear friend, Larry McKinney; along with her church family and many lifelong friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the ICU nursing staff and physicians at Mary Immaculate Hospital for their care and support during her illness. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
