POWERS, Ervin O., 79, of Glen Allen, passed away December 5, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bernice H. Powers; one stepdaughter, Sandra Nixon Schaefer; one stepson, Herbert "Wayne" Nuckols; two grandsons, David Nuckols and Paul Nixon; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Powers of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Vangie Rippie of Charlotte, N.C. and Billie Owens of Charlotte Area, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Powers worked at Philip Morris for 35 years. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, December 8, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 9, at 11 a.m. at Springfield Christian Church.

Bernice, I am so sorry to hear of Ervin's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am sure that Ervin and Charlie have already gotten together and discussing old times. Andy is back in Richmond and also sends his condolences.
