COUSINS, Duke Ellington, 76, of Goochland, Va., departed this life Sunday, January 11, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Cousins; his son, Franandris Cousins; sister, Barbara Hodges; brothers, Cecil and John Cousins. He is survived by his son, Keith Cousins Sr.; and three daughters, Robinette Cousins, Tonia Chambers of Goochland and Theresa Chambers of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Kenneth Cousins (Alease) of Fluvanna and Steve Timberlake (Pearl) of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Helen Wilson and Cecelia Tyler of Goochland and Shirley T. Burke (William) of Richmond; six grandchildren, one devoted, Keith Cousins Jr.; other brother-in-law, Earl Hodges; and sister-in-law, Doris Cousins of Goochland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; a devoted friend, Bessie Myles; and former spouse, Geraldine Cousins. Remains rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, Goochland, Va. where family will receive friends Thursday, January 15, from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2009, 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Pastor Rev. Daniel Watson officiating, Eulogy by Rev. Donald Trent. Interment Hackney Family Cemetery.

I remember Duke always had a sporty car when I was growing up. He was Mr. Cool, although we did not use that term then. I last saw him in June 2005 when he came to my mother's 85th birthday. I will miss him.
