Eleanor T. Christian

CHRISTIAN, Eleanor T., 89, of 3306 Hawkins Road, entered peacefully into eternal life Tuesday, January 13, 2009. She was born to the late Julia Hackney Key and Charlie Thompkins on April 26, 1919. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell L. Christian; two sisters, Maxine Thompkins and Odessa Miles; one brother, John Russell Key. Mrs. Christian leaves the following to cherish her memory one brother, James M. Key; one sister, Joann E. Price, both of Kents Store, Va.; one aunt, Christine Hackney Jackson (Gilbert) of Kents Store, Va.; one uncle, Harold Hackney of Washington, D.C.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Coleman (Clarence) and Inez Christian, both of Richmond, Va.; a host of nieces and nephews, several devoted, Cheryl Key Thorne, Adgerene Johnson, Marilyn Anderson and Karen White; one godson, Chip Crawford; other relatives and many devoted friends, including Ruthie Mae Woodson, Bessie Henley, Vivian Brown and Barbara Smith. Her remains are entrusted to the Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church, 7204 Bethlehem Road, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service. The family is asked to assemble at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Pastor Angelo V. Chatman officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens, Glen Allen, Va.
