Lois Branch Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch from Jan. 17 to Jan. 18, 2009.
BRANCH, Lois Verser, 82, went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2009 after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born in Nottoway County, Va., a daughter of the late George and Leola Verser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford E. Branch. Mrs. Branch is survived by her children, Marian Goff and husband, David, of Midlothian, Va., Susan Daniels and husband, Morris, of Raleigh, N.C., George Branch and wife, Linda, of Richmond, Va., and Wanda Branch of Glen Allen, Va.; grandchildren, Nicole and Kevin Goff, Josh and Jessica Daniels, Taylor and David Branch; sisters, Edna Gills of Columbia, S.C., Alice Atkinson of Crewe, Va., Georgia Bates of Richmond; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to Dr. Monica Morris and her staff for their extraordinarily compassionate level of care. We are also grateful for the kind dedication and concern our mother received from the Hospice of Virginia nursing staff. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 18, at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street, also where a funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 19, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Shady Grove U.M.C. Cemetery in Mechanicsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

My heart goes out to you all at this time of great sorrow. Lois will truly be missed. May Our Heavenly Father comfort you and grant you peace. Remember God's promise at John 5:28, 29. I offer my sincere condolences to you all.

My memories of Lois go back to when I was a little girl and Frances would take me with her to Crewe for a visit. When the sisters got together it was always a lot of laughs and fun. The years go by so fast but somehow the memories last a lifetime. Bill and I hope to see you on Sunday.
