James Williamson Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch from Jan. 20 to Jan. 21, 2009.
WILLIAMSON, James "Cole", went to heaven to be with the angels on January 18, 2009. He was preceded in death by his maternal great- grandparents, George and Veronica Mathews; and his aunt, Sheri Mathews. His memory will be forever cherished by his parents, Craig and Kathy Williamson; and his sister and best friend, Emily. He was adored by his maternal grandparents, Joyce and George Mathews "Mimi" and "Poppy", and his paternal grandparents, Trudy and James Williamson "Grannymom" and "Papa Jim"; his aunts and uncles, Bryan and Robin Oliff, Kent and Heather Williamson, Kurt and Martha Williamson and Janice Williamson. He leaves behind his loving cousins Greg, Ashley, Carli and Blair Oliff, Temple, Shannon and Ian Williamson. Although Cole overcame many obstacles in his short life, he showed each of us how to live each day in laughter and joy. He was truly a gift from God all because of the giving family who donated a heart to him 18 years ago. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Cole's honor to Noah's Children, Pediatric Hospice, 5008 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23230.

Dear Coley,
I miss you so much I can't hardly stand it. I've known a long time you would leave us one day but it's still hard to believe. Everyone has been so nice and so helpful to us. You had a lot of friends too buddy. Yesterday was a tough day as it marked exactly a week since you went to be with God and his son Jesus. I know Heavens Gates flew open when you arrived and they knew you were coming. I miss you everyday...in the morning at breakfast and especially after school getting off the bus. I miss our showers and our long, long rides together. I miss your smile and laughter....your running around happily...eating your puddings and yogurts.....dancing and singing...You really taught me a lot about patience and love. I will talk to you often and will see you one day, but not yet, not yet.
Love you everyday,
Daddy

Coley-
I've been missing you a lot everyday since you've been gone. It is really hard to go to your house and you not be there waiting at the door. I wish I could hear you say my name one more time. I know its going to be really hard for a while, but please stay with me and our family during this time and always. Everything I do from now on will be for you. I love you and will never forget you.

Coley, I miss you more and more every day, even though I haven't fully accepted the fact that you're gone. I feel so blessed and lucky to have had the privelege of being your "big" sister. You made me a strong, caring person. I don't know what our family is going to do without you running around the house, squeeling, asking for puddnings, and watching Barney's, but what I do know is that you would want all of us to be happy and we will be. I hope you are having a great time in heaven, doing all the things you didn't have the chance to do down here. I love you more than anyone/anything ever and i'll be with you again some day. Thank you for everything.

Coley Poley-
I am not sure how we are ging to fill the void of your presence at our family gatherings, but I do know that it will never be quite the same. You have been an incredible gift to our entire family and to anyone who had the privilege of knowing you. Thank you sweet boy for all you taught us about life and love. Swing and laugh and talk and watch carefully over your Da, Cwaig and Channy until we all get to see you again in heaven. All my love, Aunt Ra

I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathies to the Williamson Family. I was a close friend of Kent's when Cole was born. I remember all he went through as a baby with his transplant and growing into a toddler that filled his entire family with joy. I am so happy to hear that he grew up to be such a wonderful person. I have fond memories of your family picnics in the backyard of Trudy & James' home with all the grandchildren and especially Cole. My heart goes out to you at such a sad time.

Cole was a special young man who loved riding the school bus to Deep Run H.S. As his bus driver for two years, he always smiled (and he had the most beautiful smile), and would often say "home" and "oh yeah". As we mourn his loss, may we find comfort knowing he's home in his heavenly Father's arms. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Cole,
You were a bright shining light in so many of our lives and you will never be forgotten. If I can live the rest of my life with 10% of the enthusiasm you lived yours, I would consider that a success. You will be dearly missed but always celebrated. Enjoy your golf cart ride to heaven and we love you more than anything!
