Troy Springer Obituary

SPRINGER, Troy, of Crockett, Va., formerly of Chester, Va., passed away on January 29, 2009, after a bout with cancer. Mr. Springer was a World War II veteran and a retired mason. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy. Mr. Springer is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley; two sons, Skip Springer and his wife, Betty, of Claremont, Va., and Charles Springer and his wife, Cory, of Williamsburg; daughter-in-law, Caroline Smith of Chester; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at West End Cemetery in Wytheville, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 West Ridge Rd., Wytheville, Virginia 24382.
