Jerald Howard LaMaskin

LaMASKIN, Jerald Howard, 73, of Richmond, Va., passed away on January 29, 2009. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcia LaMaskin; two sons, Mark LaMaskin and his wife, Wendy, and Todd LaMaskin and his wife, Laurie Janus; two grandchildren, Aaron and Noa LaMaskin; sister, Arleen Richman; and his brother-in-law, Barry Spero and his wife, Merle. Jerry grew up in Chicago and graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University, where he was a member of Sammy Fraternity. After working for Clark Equipment Dealerships in Cleveland, New York, and Baltimore, he acquired his own dealerships in Richmond as well as Salisbury and Baltimore, Md. He was a well- respected business owner who cared deeply about his many employees. He was also very active in the national Clark owners association, and a past board member of Temple Beth Ahabah. After his retirement, Jerry spent his time acting as the accountant for his son, Mark's business, Performance Autosport, checking the stock market constantly, and corresponding with his beloved grandchildren. He loved to travel, especially going on cruises. His most recent trip was a laughter-filled week in Disney World with his entire family. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LINC, P.O.
