I'm so sorry for your loss...happy for Heaven's gain. I had the pleasure of knowing Will as a fellow radio broadcaster more than 40-years... enjoyed serving with him on our Virginia Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors a couple terms...could never beat him on the golf course...I think 'I stood on the wrong side of the ball'. Will, Lynwood Judkins, Don Phlegar & I lost a lot of golf balls together. I enjoyed our fun filled times...appreciate his contributions to the betterment of our broadcast industry and his service to his community. My best wishes and sincere condolences to the Will Stone family. Herm

My sincere condolences. Will was a mentor and a great friend. I owe what success I had in broadcasting to him. It was my privilege to speak in his honor at the 2007 Banquet in Emporia. He was a great advocate and practitioner of community broadcasting and Emporia and Greensville County has lost one of its greatest boosters. I regret I was in New York when I received the news of Will's passing and was unable to attend the service.

My thoughts and prayers go to the family. Will was a great friend and provided a priceless service to our community. During bad weather, Will would often spend the night at the station so he could sign on the air on time to keep the area informed of conditions and closings. We will miss you. No bogeys!!

Jeff, Scott and Dawn,

Bill and I are with you in your sorrow at the loss of your Dad. I will always remember Will being as nice to me as any person could. He was always there to listen, and to make you laugh. You are so lucky to have had him as a Father, and we were so priviledged to be his friend. GodSpeed, Will.....I know you and Eleanor are with each other again, and celebrating that in good health, and you'll be together again. Always now. You are where nothing else can hurt you. We mourn your loss but also celebrate your wonderful life. We pray for peace for the family to get through this. Soon, you will be able to think back with happy memories of your Dad....and that is all we are left with, our memories. Treasure each memory and know that your Dad is never far from you. You're all in our thoughts and in our hearts.

For mentoring our sons, and being such a staunch community supporter, Will is an indelible part of our lives. He had a quick wit, warm smile, and certainly loved nothing more than heading out to the Emporia Country Club! We'll miss him. Our sympathies to his family. Tedd & Liz Povar
