Leslie Hollins Obituary

HOLLINS, Leslie Norwood, died in the Lord on Friday, January 30, 2009. He is survived by three sisters, Carolyn H. Sheffer of York, Penn., Joyce H. Luck of Sandston, and Georgia H. Cheatam of Varina; devoted nieces and nephews he dearly loved, Judy Vaughan (Andy), Sherry Cheatham, David Cheatham, Jim Luck Jr. (Jane), Rosemary Proffitt (Wayne), Sue Wertz (Chuck) and Cindy Howell (Mike); also survived by several great-nieces and nephews. Norwood's love for pets was inspirational and he leaves to mourn his loss, his pet and his "buddy," Fluffy. He received a certificate for completion of his studies at Smithdeal Massey Business College. Norwood was a member of Willis United Methodist Church and a member of the Ruritan Club in Glendale. He served in the Infantry during WWII and was the Recipient of the Purple Heart. The family is deeply grateful for the care he received through the years from Dr. Michael Sheehan and grateful to the loving neighbors who have been so attentive. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Nelsen Funeral Home 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, where services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, with interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Willis United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice.

Emil and I would like to express our sincere sympathies to you and your family. We pray that you will take comfort in knowing that you will have a special guardian angel to watch over you. We will cherish the visits we shared with Mr. Hollins and his soft kind words of wisdom. You are in our thouhts and prayers.
