Mary Perkins Martin

MARTIN, Mary Perkins, 82, of Fishersville and Norfolk, Va., entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Mrs. Martin was born in Charleston, S.C. She was the daughter of Arthur and Jessie Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. "Jack" Martin Sr. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Karen Martin of Richmond, Va.; two sons, John R. Martin Jr. and his wife, Cecelia, of San Diego, Calif., William H. Martin and his wife, Darcie, of Waynesboro, Va.; her brother, Arthur L. Perkins of Winchester, Va.; sister, Helen Perkins Bremus of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, Allison and Christopher Martin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted on Tuesday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 520 Graydon Ave., Norfolk, Va. Interment will immediately follow at Belle Haven, Va. The family will receive friends at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, 1501 Colonial Ave., Norfolk, Va on Monday, March 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice at 2815 N.
