To the Bascom Family,

I never had the privlege to be one of Mrs. Bascom's math students while I was a student at HSHS. However I can recall her tutoring me for my math SOL test a couple of times; she was a phenomenal teacher. She was quiet and soft spoken and an effective educator.

Mrs. Bascom was a blessing to HSHS and she will be missed.

To the Bascom Family,

I recently learned of the Passing of Ms. Vicki Bascom who tutored me while I was a student at Highland Springs High School twenty-three years ago. I have never forgotten her kindness and genuine interest in helping me as a student. I am hopeful that my testament of her kindness is further proof of the indelible mark she left on the lives of many of her former students including me. I grieve with you in your loss and rejoice with you in celebrating her life and caring spirit

I just recently learned of Ms. Bascom's passing and my heart is truly saddened....I always remember her being so kind, so sweet, always willing to help a student succeed, and always eager to talk about her son Bryce whom she held so deep to her heart. Ms. Bascom taught me Algebra and Geometry and she was truly a gifted teacher...I wish I would've done a better job of keeping in touch with her so that she could see me and my son today...I love you Ms. Bascom, and Bryce find comfort in knowing that your mother is resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior...God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of being in Ms. Bascom's Algebra class during the time she adopted her son. She was so excited to become a mother! She was a wonderful teacher and will be missed.

We are so Sorry to hear about Miss. Bascom passing away.
She was my Granddaughters [Samantha's] Math. teacher in the 9th grade. Samantha will graduate this year. She was a wonderful caring teacher who loved her students and wanted them to be successful.
I also worked at the school she taught at. She would always speak to me when ever I would see her in the hall. She will be missed by everyone.
Our prayers are with the family that God will comfort you all.

Miss Bascom will always hold a special place in my heart. She was one of those teachers that inspired me to enter the teaching profession. I was in 9th grade at New Kent High School when I had her for algebra. I was fortunate enough to teach along side of her when I came to Highland Springs 14 years ago.

I will miss her dearly.

I am very saddened by the news of Ms. Bascom's death. I had her for math my freshman year of high school and as a freshman at Virginia Tech, I would come home on Friday afternoon and retreat to her for help with college math. She would stay after school on Friday afternoon and explain to me how to do the math. She always made time to help me even though I did not alert her that I would be coming. Not only was she an awesome math teacher but she was a very compassionate person. I am so sorry for the family's loss. I will keep you all in my prayers.
