Lois Bishop Obituary

BISHOP, Lois Jean, 77, a lifelong resident of Hopewell, died Friday, March 6, 2009 in John Randolph Medical Center. Miss Bishop was a graduate of Hopewell High School and retired from the State of Virginia, where she was employed with the Richmond/Petersburg Turnpike Authority. Prior to her service with the State, she was employed for many years with Honeywell Corporation. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edgar Sr. and Mabel Black Bishop; and a brother, John Edgar Bishop Jr. Miss Bishop is survived by a nephew, Benjamin T. Bishop and his wife, Tina; a great- nephew, Nathan Gray Bishop; and a sister-in-law, Mary Virginia Bishop, all of Chester. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 9, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Perkinson officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Christian Church, 306 Memorial Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia 23860. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com.
