Esther Sue Justis Ligon

LIGON, Esther Sue Justis, 86, widow of John Archer Ligon, III, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, Va. The daughter of Samuel Jackson and Mattie Wessells Justis, Esther Sue was born and reared in Clam, Virginia and was a graduate of Parksley High School with the class of 1939. Mrs. Ligon is survived by her daughter, Betty Jack Ligon of Machipongo; and son, Archer Ligon of Clarksville. She was a member of Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church and a former clerk for Winn Dixie Stores. She participated in the ministries of "Care For" and the Society of St. Andrews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend Walt Westbrook officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery.
