Virginia Stone Obituary

STONE, Virginia Lorraine Knapp, 89, of Richmond, went to be with Jesus on August 10, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ernestine Knapp; two brothers, Clarence Jr. and Charles Knapp; and a sister, Mary Lee Parsons. She is survived by her son, Robert Milton Stone of Petersburg; daughter, Mary Virginia "Ginger" Fridley of Richmond; granddaughter, Erika Dale Fridley of Midlothian; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stone had a 30-year banking career with Southern Bank and Trust Company. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 15, in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Voice of the Retarded," 836 S. Arlington Heights Rd., No. 351, Elk Grove Village, Illinois 60007, or to the Parents Organization of Southside Virginia Training Center, 4397 Landfall Dr., Williamsburg, Va. 23185, c/o Kent Olsen, Treasurer.
