Sidney Vernon Obituary

VERNON, Sidney Howard, 92, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 13, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hilda Haden Vernon; daughter, Shirley Kellemen and her husband, Robert; son, Charles Vernon, and his wife, Christina; grandchildren, Joshua, Marie, Todd and Kyle; and sister, Emily Frazier. Mr. Vernon served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He spent over 45 years as a building renovation contractor in the Richmond area. He attended both Oak Grove and Berean Baptist Churches. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

During this difficult time, we pray that God will confort you with His strength, peace and hope. We have valued your friendship for many years, since our children grew up at Berean.
Sidney was a man of his word and the hardest working man that we know of!
