Tre'Shawn, I was sorry to hear about the sudden death of your mother. The short time I have known you both, I know she was a person I would trust my child with. She had a good heart, donating her lovely cakes to the Boys & Girls Club as well as her precious time. She was loved and will be missed by all.

Words cannot express the shock and sorrow we felt, when word came that you were gone. You have always been such a joy. I thank you one last time for being there for me on my wedding day, it was such an honor to have you there. You were always so sweet, fun,talented,stylish,caring, sharing,and just always so thoughful of others. You are such a loss for us on earth, but will be a gain in Heaven. Don't worry Tre will be taken care of Laverne and Howard always has his back! Britt, Terronce, and I will forever keep the memories of you alive in our hearts and soul. From our family to yours, our thoughts and prayers are with you. This to is such huge lost to our family, much more than words can express. Shawn was like a daughter to us. We usually addressed her as our other daughter. Always present at our family gatherings and if she wasn't we always asked where she was. The lost of Shawn has touched our hearts no other non relative ever have, because she really was family and such a sweetheart. I pray that the Lord will get us all through these difficult times.

To the family of Shawn Z. McCall,
You're in my deepest and most sincere prayers. The lost of Shawn without question can't be clearly comprehended or explained. Despite, our saddness we must take solace and know that God is in complete control and knows what's best!
I extend my upmost appreciation to you for nurturing such a wonderful, beautiful, giving, and caring humanbeing. Shawn came into my life as a friend in 1993 upon my arrival to Richmond, VA from Philadelphia, PA. Our bond was instantaneous due to our genuine love for "Philly", the Eagles, and professional boxing! Now that's a Philly homegirl if I ever met or saw one! Her friendship was instrumental in making me feel welcomed during my early years in Richmond. Additonally, I will miss discussing with her during the footbal season how badly the Eagles played, which occured quite often!
Throughout the past 16 years, Shawn has continued to impressed me as a great mother, great friend, great humanitarian, and most importantly a person who understood the true meaning of life. Which can be taken from the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who stated, "An indivdual has not started to live until he or she can rise above the narrow confines of their own individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity." Shawn knew this all too well! I vividly and will always remember her and Tre volunteering to help me with handing out Thanksgiving turkeys to needy families during Thanksgiving and reading to Elementary School students during our "Drop Everything and Read Program."
Finally, as the leaves on a tree wither away and die in the Fall only to regenerate themselves in the Spring and live again, so shall the kindness, values, and spirit of Shawn Z. McCall regenerate themselves and live in all of the people she touched throughout her journey in this world!

I want to start off by saying, You will truly be missed!
I need someone to pinch me right now, to believe you are no longer going to walk through UPS doors, makes me tear up at this very moment.
I just had a conversation with you the day before you walked through heavens doors. My Lord and Savior knew you were suffering that day.
You don't have to suffer anymore. I still remember the phone call coming through to the switchboard and after hearing those words, I just broke down.
I am going to miss you, our talks that we shared, how we expressed our love for the two men in our lives (Tre' and my son D'antae).
You are my friend and wonderful person that I will never forget. We will see each other again one day.

I met Shawn when I worked at UPS Freight, she sat on the same row as I did at one time while I was in the International Department. She was a joy to be around and a great friend to me. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten, Shawn McCall now has her angel wings and will be watching over her son and family. To her family....

Shawn and I met at work and we became good friends. I had the opportunity to stay her friend for many years. She was a wonderful person both inside and out. She was the girlfriend that was a listener as well as the one with the level head. She was there for me whenever I needed her. No matter how busy life got or time spent apart we always picked up as if we just left each other that same day. I am still trying to grasp the fact that this beautiful woman is no longer here. I will truly miss her,her smile and addicting laugh. My thoughts and prayers will be with Treshawn and her family. May God calm all of our hearts,family and friends,and take us through our time of sorrow and grief. I LOVE YOU GIRL and will miss you greatly but God has you safe in His arms now and will keep Tre close and safe to His heart.

Meeting Shawn in 2005 at Lisa Brown's graduation was truly a joy for me. She stood out to me as a good friend and person in general to those who loved her. She was classy, kind and very funny. God gave you an excellent mother. She was the epitome of a single mother. There was nothing she wouldn't do for you. She made sure you had the best. She was so proud of you! Continue to make her smile! You are her light and shining armor, the wind beneath her wings..and oh, how she loves you so.

My heart broke into pieces earlier this week when I learned of the sudden, unexpected death of Shawn, and I cannot imagine the depth of your sorrow.

Dear Shawn- I love you and I miss you so much. Words cannot describe how empty I feel.
You have always been my friend through good and bad times.
You protected me when others wanted to harm me.
You where the voice of reason when Fee and I got out of line.
