Alice Bell Obituary

BELL, Alice Emmeline Binns, 91, formerly of Richmond, Va., passed peacefully into her life with Christ on Friday, August 14, 2009. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Edwin L. Bell Sr.; and two of her beloved children, David L. Bell, in 1979, and Edwin L. Bell Jr., in 2005. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Carolyn B. Bradley and Marian B. Nuckolls. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Margaret B. Merkel. Other survivors include her dearly loved son-in-law, W. Scott Bradley; her adored grandchildren, Will Nuckolls and his wife, Sara, Allison Bradley, Ken Bradley, Tegan Cox, Shannon Flowers; and three great grandchildren, Logan Cox, David Nuckolls, and Abelana Seward; as well as her son, Edwin Jr's cherished widow, Beverley Bell; and extended family members and her many friends. Alice touched all who knew her with her graciousness, loving kindness and lively sense of humor, and will be deeply missed and remembered by those who shared so many special moments with her. A service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2009, in the Chapel of Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church, 2300 Dumbarton Rd., Richmond, Va., 23228, where Alice served and worshiped our God for over 59 years. There will be a time to meet with the family immediately following the service in the church's parlor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church.

C.B., Scott and family-I really wish I could be there with you. She was my other "mom" all through our high school years and afterwards, and it's hard to imagine her not being here.
