CARTER, Hugh Michael "Mike," 57, passed away after a short, but courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. He is survived by his children, Toren of Alexandria and Sara of Roanoke; brothers, Ray (Debbie) of Providence Forge, Robert of Montvale; sisters, Becky (Jake) of Bedford, Cathy of Lexington, Va. He also had many nieces and nephews that called him "Unca Mike." Mike had a passion for fishing that he loved to share with family and friends. He will be truly missed by all. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va., where services will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.

So sorry for the lose of Mike he will always be remembered in all of our hearts. He will never be gone from us because now he is a guardian angel to watch over us along with his parents,grandparents,aunts,uncles,and cousins. We will remember all the good times that we all shared together. Gone to a better place where he will no longer suffer. With all our love the Edward Carter family Berneice,Diane,Ricky,Mark and all of our families.
