DeLancey Jones

JONES, DeLancey, 93, of Richmond, died Wednesday, August 25, 2009. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara; his second wife, Catherine; and his brother, Griffith Jones. He is survived by his one daughter, Deborah Walter and husband, Richard, of Kamas, Utah; two stepdaughters, Susie Benson and husband, Taylor, and Holly Antrim and husband, John Mason, both of Richmond; stepson, S. Kirk Materne and wife, Stuart, of Naples, Fla.; sister, Valerie Jones Materne of Washington, Conn.; brother, Christopher Peter Jones of Wayland, Mass.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. DeLancey was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from Ohio Bell in Cleveland. After his retirement, he and Barbara lived in Williamstown, Mass. He moved to Richmond in 1997, where he and Catherine lived. A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 27, at Westminster Canterbury.
