Lester Irvin POLLARD

POLLARD, Lester Irvin, 90, of Keysville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Minnie Sizmore Pollard; three daughters, Jackie Blankenship and husband, Gerald, of Mechanicsville, Va., Gerri Davis and late husband, Patrick, of Chesterfield, Va., Brenda Miller and husband, Richard, of Franklin, Va.; one son, John Lester Pollard of Blackstone, Va.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Eva Huddleston of Keysville, Va.; and one brother, David Russell Pollard and wife, Ruth McKay, of Richmond, Va. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Ruth William Pollard. Lester was in CCC Camp No. 2386, and served in the Navy in World War II as a cook. A Graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009, in the Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield, Va. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Va., on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Building Fund. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
