Manuel Brittwood HAYNIE

HAYNIE, Manuel Brittwood, 88, of Reedville, Va. and Farnham Manor, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Mr. Haynie was a retired fish boat captain with Zapata Haynie, Inc. (now Omega Protein), Reedville, Va. for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Reedville, Va. Mr. Haynie was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Martin Haynie; his daughter, JoAnne Swann; and his son Ronald Haynie. Surviving family members are grandson, Britt Swann and wife, Bonnie; granddaughters, Jodi Swann and Michael Haynie; great-grandchildren, Taylor Childress and Joshua Swann; brother, Wendell Haynie and wife, Anne; daughter-in-law; Glenna Haynie; son-in-law, Charles Swann; sister-in-law, Frances Haynie and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at Bethany United Methodist Church, Reedville, Va., on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 25. Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville, Va. Faulkner Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Burgess, Va., is handling the arrangements.
