WILLIAMS-WOOD, Marie P., 81, of Mechanicsville, entered into rest on September 19, 2009. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 55 years, Emory F. Williams. Surviving are her husband, Hugh V. Wood Sr.; children, Emory E. Williams and wife, Susan, Yvonne Williams Creekmore and husband, Dan, Stuart R. Williams, Linda Williams Linfors and husband, David, Robert B. Williams and wife, Beth; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Brian, Chad, Crystal, Hillary, Justin, Christian, Reed and Cameron; four great-grandchildren, Trae, Hayden, Cadence and Peter; and stepchildren, Hugh V. Wood Jr. and wife, Jan, Kathy Wood Brackin and husband, Tom, and Terry Wood Rightnour and husband, Mike. The family will receive friends at the Mechanicsville Chapel Bennett Funeral, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Hugh and Stuart, I just heard about Marie and I'm so sorry. I remember you and Marie having great times at Midway Lounge and remember Marie and you from years of growing up and being friends with Stuart and Larry. May God with you and yours.

Yvonne, we are so sorry to hear about this loss. Your mother was the sweetesgt lady and whenever we've been around her, she was always so happy and so welcoming to everyone.
