Charles WATTIE Obituary

WATTIE, Charles L., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2009. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Elaine Harris Wattie; two sons, Shephon and Lekevis Wattie; four stepchildren, two stepgrandchildren, two great-stepgrandchildren, one goddaughter; a devoted mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wattie; two sisters, Vernelle Shelton and Hazel Pleasant; two brothers, James "Buster" and Thomas Wattie (Janet); seven sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, three aunts, one great-aunt, one great-uncle; four devoted friends, Lorrine Jackson, who he considered his second mother, Sheila Pryor, Walter Jackson and Albert L. Jackson; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the F.E. Dabney Funeral Home, 600 B Street, Ashland. Homegoing services will be Friday, October 2, 1 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 17520 Jefferson Hwy., Montpelier. Rev. Alex Shelley, pastor, officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Garden. To the Wattie Family. I was sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. May you find comfort in knowing tha god brought you to it and he will see you through. Cherish the memories that you shared for weeping will endure for an evening but joy cometh in the moring.

Dear Family, I'm so sorry about Charlie's passing but I know God didn't want him to suffer any longer so he reached down and took away all his pain. Yes he will be missed by us all we love you Charlie but God loves you best as you stated Divine help stay always with us.
