Dennis Calvin Baldwin

BALDWIN, Dennis Calvin, 73, of Sandston, passed away Monday, October 4, 2009, after an eight-month battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Jefferson J. Baldwin; mother, Carrie Yarbrough Baldwin; sister, Norma Baldwin Cummings; two brothers, Raymond T. Baldwin and Jefferson L. Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a graduate of Varina High School and served in the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He retired from Union Envelope Company after 37 years of service in 1992. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Shirley Childress Baldwin; one stepson, Eric Roger Childress; three daughters from a previous marriage, Terry K. Baldwin, Michelle L. Baldwin and Crystal A. Baldwin Walton; three grandchildren, Bryan Jennings Conner, Tiffany M. Baldwin and Megan Ann Baldwin. The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, where services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2009. Interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
