Marshall was a great guy that always had something good to say about everyone. His smile and good spirits come to mind immediately when thinking about the time I spent with. He and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.

October 10, 2009

I had the good fortune of spending some time with Marshall at business lunches and dinners. I also had played a few rounds of golf with Marshall over the years and he was a load of fun playing golf with. Marshall was simply just a fun guy to be with. I am so, so sorry and my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Johnson family. Bill Umansky (formerly Koch Ind).

I have many fond memories of Uncle Marshall joining in our lives as we grew-up in Richmond, as both a friend and father-figure. May Marshall’s family and friends be comforted with memories of his genuine heart, exuberance for life, and generosity. And may his children and grandchildren carry-on his legacy with pride and honor. Marshall was a lovely man who, sadly, left us too soon. Marshall, please rest in peace and know that you bring a smile to my face when I reflect on our many fun times together with Mesa and Karen. I will remember you for your life’s journey and for the love that you brought to many. I send warm condolences to Uncle Marshall’s family.

My thoughts and prayers are dedicated to the entire family during this difficult time. Marshall was a true southern gentleman in my mind. We often talked about hunting, a sport we both loved. I thought of Marshall as a friend much more than a co-worker during my tenure at Fuel Oils.

Marshall was indeed a kind, warm and true friend. We worked together at Southern Fuel Oils many "moons" ago but kept in touch throughout the years. Have fond memories of our jokes, fun, and laughter together. My prayers are with each of you in the coming days.

My most sincere condolences to Marshall's family. I am one of his oil customers and it was a pleasure doing business with him because he was always straight forward, honest and a true Southern Gentleman. My home is Franklin, NC and we would talk about my trips home and his trips to Burnsville to visit his son. I hate to see him go and am so sorry for what happened.
