It has taken me these three weeks to begin to find the words to enter here, and it's still difficult. As with many others, I was so saddened to hear of Margie's unexpected death. Having been Margie's belle soeur for 13 years, many memories of her were revived simply by reading what others had written here. How my heart longs to talk with Margie once again, to send her the notes I never got around to writing, and to tell her once again that I'm SO BLESSED to have known her. What a wonderful daughter you raised, Jim and Jan! What a beautiful woman you married, Thom! (Wasn't she the loveliest bride ever?!) Grace and Calvin, I hope you get to know your Mom more in the coming years through the memories of those who knew and loved her. You're in my thoughts and prayers always. In Loving Memory ~

Apart from responding to wonderfully warm emails I received around reunion times, I didn't keep up my end of the friendship with Tom and Margie. Which is a terrible thing, because both Tom and Margie were among the kindest and wittiest people I knew in high school. Kind and witty people are unique and precious. The world is poorer for having lost Margie. But souls all over heaven are grinning in welcome.

Tom,
I'm shocked and saddened to hear the news. Margie was so sweet and smart in French class, and then she turned into a bombshell, and stayed sweet and smart. You have my deepest sympathy; you and Grace and Calvin will be in my thoughts.

It's been so hard to try and formulate the words to sign this book. It was almost as if by not signing it, this couldn’t have really happened. I still can't believe Margie is no longer HERE. Although we lived states away from each other...she was always "here". When I heard she was in the hospital I had an instant flash of her great smiling face in front of me with her distinctive voice and her great laugh and I suddenly missed her SO MUCH. I have a picture on my desk of when our little group was last together... and loads of pictures in books and in my head of all those great times dancing and hanging out and laughing. It was so wonderful to read the various tributes already written in this guestbook of how far and wide Margie's loving and vivacious personality touched people's lives. It doesn’t surprise me that so many people loved her. She was such an outgoing and caring person. -- I am so grateful for the 6 years that I got to share life and music and dance with Margie (and Laurie) here in Chicago. And my prayers go out to all those who, like me, feel such an emptiness now that Margie has gone. My prayers go out to Thom, Grace and Calvin, and the Robinson family…and La…and all those who were lucky enough to know her. We were all so lucky to have known her. --- Thom, Grace & Calvin: I believe that when you are missing her most, it will be because Margie is standing right beside you, embracing you with her love. May God give you solace and your memories bring you peace. All our love, Jodi & (son) Nathan

When I think of Margie, I think of our instant friendship, her smiles and hugs. I met Margie at Parham East and always looked forward to seeing her, Grace, and Calvin. She had a presence about her that attracted anyone who met her. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

Margie...it was so simple. She scared me. She and Laurie were always the tallest and the prettiest girls in the room(girls like that NEVER talked to guys like me). But they became the best friends a man could ask for. Along with Sharon and Jodi and Cully and Cyndi we danced to the Way Moves, the Insiders and the Elvis Brothers(the best blamed bands you've never heard of). Margie made me feel so cool. Bless your heart, Blondie.

Dear,
Tom, Grace, and Calvin,
I am sorry to hear about your loss. Margie was a genuine, sweet person and mother to both her children Grace and Calvin. I met Margie at daycare. I remember numerous times talking and laughing with Margie; she had such a warm and comforting smile. May our thoughts, prayers, and blessings guide your family through your time of sorrow. Margie will be greatly missed. –The Roberson Family.

Dear Tom,
I heard the sad news today. I worked with Margie at Style in the late '90s. She was one of those people that stood out from the pack. She was always cheerful, energetic and caring. I loved working on projects with her because she was so positive, upbeat and funny. I had not seen her in a few years and was looking forward to catching up with her at a convention in mid-June. I am deeply sorry for your loss, and your family is in my thoughts.

I can't remember when I first met Margie but thinking she was pretty I must have walked up to her and said hello and was instantly floored by her outgoing and cheerful
personality....When Margie walked into a room the whole room lit up....She was one of those people who had the "It" factor quite naturally and she could relate to my off the cuff humor so we got along famously.... As a member of The Elvis Brothers when we would look out over the audience and see her smiling face we knew it was gonna be a great night..And many there were...Dear Margie you were loved and will be missed.... One day we'll all see each other again on the other side....

Thom, Grace, Calvin, and Robinson and Jeter families,
Margie and I worked together at Style for many years and had kept in touch for the last five years while I lived in DC. Her Christmas cards, with compilations of the latest and greatest quotes from Calvin and Grace were always my favorite card of the year.
I'm sure you know how loved and admired she was by everyone she worked with. I once went on a business trip with her to Norfolk for leader team training, and she spent all of her spare time catching up with friends she hadn't seen or talked to in awhile, earning her the nickname "Social Butterfly Robinson Jeter". She chatted up everyone at the Virginian Pilot and had made fast friends with the whole classified staff there by the time we left. Anyone that knew her, even casually, knew how important her family and friends were to her.
Your loss is great, and I am so sorry for it. She was a wonderful, amazing woman.

Dear Jeter and Robinson Families:
Having known Margie for many years, I have few memories growing up that didn’t include Margie in one way or another. She was one of my closest friends from the moment I met her at Wesley through grade school, high school, college and beyond.
I remember so many great times…. A summer visit with her family at our cabin in the UP of Michigan, laughing like fools while being serenaded with Cheap Trick blaring in our tiny apartment at the U of I (Margie, Misty & me) , dancing at Mabels, partying at Eddie’s, Halloween with Plastique Bertrand, a mutual love of art, France, music, and photography. I will miss Margie’s great smile, affinity for goofiness, outgoing personality and love for people and animals of all kinds. Margie was a special person.
My deepest sympathy to Tom, your family, Tom and Dahl, Andrew and Cameron, Mel, Mr. & Mrs. Robinson, Glenn, Mark and their families. My love to you all…

Tom, Grace, and Calvin,
Khloe and I are so very sorry for your loss. I was blessed to know Margie while I worked at Parham East and Khloe was in Calvin's classroom. The things that always stood out to me was her outgoing personality, smile, and that she was an amazing Mother to her children. Khloe fell crazy in love with Grace, always telling me she was her big sister. Next, she started saying Calvin was sooooo cute :0) You have an amazing family. Please know you will be in our hearts always. Please let Grace and Calvin know Khloe and I (Kim) are thinking of them and we love them very much. ((HUGS))

Dear Tom and Family -
I am so sorry to hear of Margie's passing. I have nothing but the fondest memories of Margie. My favorites are from dancing with Margie to Plastique Bertrand (Ca Plane Pour Moi), The Pretenders, The Romantics, The Kinks and of course the Go-Gos in her basement and then all the bands in C-U (foremost Captain Rat and The Elvis Bros.). Margie had such spirit and enthusiasm for life. She was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Margie was a friend and colleague of my sister, Tracy, and I would see her when I visited their workplace, a travel agency in downtown Norfolk, VA. On occasion, I would crash their annual Christmas shopping outing to Williamsburg. Margie was a good friend to my sister, and always seemed very bright and cheerful. We are saddened by her passing, but not without hope. We are praying for only the comfort God can give for Thom, whom I met on several occasions, and the children. Much love from Texas!!!

Tom, Grace and Calvin, we are so saddened by your loss. Margie was such a wonderful, warm person. She always had a beautiful smile and was so sweet and giving. Anytime she would take photos of George and Calvin together she would make sure that we got a copy. My favorite one she took of them is still my screen saver on my computer and will remain presious to me. We will be praying for all of you during this sad time. Dear Tom, Grace and Calvin,
I am so very sorry to hear about Margie. She was an absolute delight, a lovely friend to me. We'd dance at Mabel's and Captain Rat shows aplenty. She was always upbeat, playful and inclusive. She'd get everyone up on the dance floor, and that is how I shall always remember her. She had a sweetness and an inner light that I will very much miss.
With sympathy,

Words cannot express what I would like to convey to you with the loss of Margie. Margie gave much of herself to others. She had a greeting smile, and such a positive presence. I want to thank you for sharing your wonderful wife & mother with Junior Achievement and the many children that she taught for the last 3 years at Lakeside Elementary School. Margie's impact on each child is immeasurable and we (at JA) are saddened deeply by the loss of a dear friend. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

I am sorry for your loss. I have known and taken care of the children since Grace was a baby, and being allowed to know Margie through your children was a priviledge. She was a wonderful mother, and I'm sure will continue to be even if not there in person. If you need anything just ask. Grace and Calvin are very special children and we would do anything you need to help them or you. All my love Kim Carragher
